Whistleblower System

At VINCI Energies Europe East, as part of the VINCI Group, we maintain an open corporate culture and aim to apply high standards of corporate ethics to our actions. We place great importance on the safety and respect of all those affected by our business activities. They make a decisive contribution to our success.

Why is a Whistleblower System needed?

The Europe East Division of VINCI Energies has set up a secure reporting system for the confidential receipt and handling of reports on matters relating to the Group’s activities and the activities of subcontractors and suppliers in all countries where we operate. The cases received are processed confidentially by a designated team and in the national language of the whistleblower.

This Whistleblower System strengthens our commitment to identifying and combating corruption and contributes to preventing violations of human rights, fundamental freedoms, health protection and environmental standards. The VINCI Ethics Charter and Code of Conduct always constitute the cornerstone of our actions.

When and what should be reported?

The Whistleblower System should be used to report criminal offences, irregularities and other work-related violations of EU or national law as well as violations of VINCI’s or VINCI Energies’ guidelines. In this way, we aim to identify and eliminate risks to individuals, our organization, to society and the environment. The WhistleB reporting system is open to all employees as well as all our external employees and business partners and is also used to report violations along the supply chain. Examples of this are:

  • Environment (e.g. pollution, degradation, waste management)
  • Business ethics (e.g. corruption, conflicts of interest, falsification of records or documents, anti-competitive practices, fraud, violation of the VINCI Anti-Corruption Code of Conduct)
  • Human rights (discrimination and harassment)
  • Human rights and fundamental freedoms (e.g. child labor, forced labor, human trafficking, violation of the rights of the local population)
  • Health and safety (e.g. lack of appropriate preventive measures, non-compliance with operating procedures or safety protocols, hazards)

Who can submit a report?

The following natural persons are potential whistleblowers:

  • Employees of Group companies
  • External personnel (temporary workers, employees of subcontractors, employees of suppliers and service providers);
  • natural persons affected by a project (on issues relating to VINCI’s duty of care towards the environment and society)

What is the objective?

Our aim under the EU Whistleblowing Directive is to detect and prevent breaches of Union law. At the same time, we protect people who report work-related misconduct in good faith from any negative consequences resulting from their report, such as dismissal, intimidation or retaliation.
